1958 Mercedes Benz 220S Ponton

This delightful 220S Ponton Mercedes was supplied new by Bridgend Motors, Perth and first registered on the 14th April 1958. According to the V5, the Mercedes has only had four owners from new and it appears that the car has remained in Scotland from new. The elderly last owner has had the car since 2003 and has kept a journal of all maintenance and repair. We can see from the notes that engine has recently benefitted from a new camshaft, re-ground valves and new timing chain tensioner. Other recent work/improvements include a new clutch and set of tyres.

We have some history including recent bills, tax discs and MOT's dating back to 1988. The Mercedes has covered 30,000 miles in the past 22 years and the car appears very original. The interior is delightful and clearly shows this example has never been hard worked. The body and paint present well and the Mercedes is lovely on the road with a lovely smooth ride.
