This stunning Morgan 4/4 was first registered on the 10th February 1976 and has spent the past 19 years in West Yorkshire. The Morgan was subject of a major refurbishment and overhaul in 2000/2001 and has covered just 1500 miles since. The Morgan has been used for fine weather weekend use and comes to us with in strong mechanical order with a beautifully aged and well-presented look to it. The Morgan has been most recently owned by a University Professor in the Huddersfield area and has now covered a total mileage from new of 69,500 miles.
Whilst undergoing its program of work in the early 2000's, the Morgan was treated to a brand new gearbox, new clutch, new cylinder head set, new sump gasket, new engine and gearbox mounting rubbers and new propshaft cover. The rear axle was stripped down and re-assembled with all new wheel bearings, axle oil seals and pinion oil seal, the differential was inspected, found in good condition and re-fitted with new gasket, new Koni adjustable shocks (front and rear) were fitted to replace the old lever arm shocks, the front suspension was partially stripped down and negative camber plates and torque reactors bars fitted, all brake pipes were replaced, flexible hoses were changed for braided uprated replacements and a new brake master cylinder fitted. Cosmetic work included new a new front bumper with new bolts and brackets, new luggage rack, re-trimmed upholstery, Black enamel wire wheels, new Black rocker covers and various detailed items.
From previous MOT's present in the history file we can see the Morgan has only covered 9500 miles since 1990. Throughout the 1990's the Morgan was covering around 800 miles per year as an average and as stated since refurbishment work in 2000/2001, it has covered just 1500 miles but from the file of MOT's we can see it has been roadworthy and used each year although mileage has been kept to a minimum. MLR 472P has arrived with us in strong mechanical order and drives superbly. Its super fit 1600cc Ford Kent powered engine performs superbly offering impressive performance and having covered so few miles since its gearbox overhaul, it changes up and down the gears perfectly. The car sits comfortably at 70mph, offers an improved ride due to its Koni shocks and steering is tight, precise and offers a very enjoyable driving experience. The cars older Black paintwork presents very well, the chrome work is bright and well presented, the Black wires are in excellent order and the interior and hood are all in lovely condition. This is a perfectly usable, fun Morgan to own and is ideal for touring and really should be driven extensively and used to its maximum potential.
