1936 Morris 8 Series I Saloon

Our Series 1 Morris 8 Saloon was first registered on the 23rd September 1936. From the brown 'buff' continuation logbook we know the Morris spent the 1950's and 1960's in Northamptonshire and has always been a blue car. We also have green continuation logbook confirming the Morris was still in the Northampton area up to 1979 telling us the car spent at least three decades within the same county.

We have MOT certificates dating back to 1986 with the Morris showing us the car has spent the majority of the past 28 years on the road. Although relatively low mileages have been covered each year, it is good to see the car has had regular use. Between 1986 and 2001 the Morris was in Wiltshire and then briefly Kent prior to moving to Wales in 2006. In 2008 the Morris was taken over to the Isle of Man and it wasn't to return to mainland until 2013 when we took the Morris in part exchange from a collector with over 10 classic cars. In 2013 the Morris was treated to two new front wheel cylinders, rebuilt rear cylinders, re-lined brake shoes, new door check straps and three new tyres. The Morris was also treated to various paintwork and exterior detailing. Since August 2013 the Morris has been on the East Coast and used for local trips and runs out.

From the MOT certificates we can confirm the Morris has covered 5000 miles since 1993. Between 1986 and 1992 6000 miles were covered and it appears the car had a speedo change at some point in 1992/1993. It would appear 11000 miles in total have been completed since 1986 and we can confirm the Morris has come to us in good useable condition. The Morris drives well with a good strong engine and gearbox and the car rides well. Brakes are efficient, the car drives smoothly and the car is fun to drive. This is an ideal entry level Pre-war car that presents well with lovely bright paintwork, a good solid body and excellent underside. The interior looks to have been re-trimmed many years ago, perhaps during the 1970's or 1980's and is tidy and presentable. We are pleased to offer this smart, useable Morris onto the market for the second time and confirm that it will be supplied with a full 12 months MOT and fresh service to include oil change and brake service.
