1969 Morris Mini Cooper MKII

This superb MKII Morris Mini Cooper was first registered on the 20th March 1969. From paperwork with the car we believe it left the factory in beige with a white roof and the recorded mileage of 80,670 fits with the beautiful original interior.

The Mini did benefit from a body restoration between 1990 - 1991 which included new outer sills, new floor panels, rear subframe mounting points, rear subframe, rear valance and new front valance.  The Mini was also mechanically re-commissioned  and benefitted from new brake pipes, brake discs, pads and shoes, wheel cylinders, CV joints, new exhaust and manifold, new starter motor, track rod ends, rubber bushes and much more. The engine and gearbox were overhauled and carburettors, master cylinders, brake callipers and rear radius arms all also overhauled. Since this work the Mini has covered over 15,000 miles. Further work was carried out between 1997-1998 to include a full re-paint of the bodyshell whilst doors, boot lid, bonnet and all glass removed.

More recently in 2002 the engine was rebuilt by an engineering Company in Canterbury. The Mini also had a brand new clutch fitted and has only covered 5200 since. The Mini drives perfectly with a superb, quick 998cc engine. The engine feels very strong and sounds superb with impressive performance. The gearbox is excellent and the whole driving experience is fabulous. The Mini handles perfectly and brakes are sharp.

The Mini presents beautifully with excellent paintwork and a sharp, solid bodyshell. The chrome work is in very good order and the car is ideal for shows. The engine bay and boot are both nicely detailed so this is car that is ready to be enjoyed. In 2012 we sold the Mini to one of our Teeside regular customers who likes to change his classics reguarly. The Mini has been a delight to own, has required no expenditure and has been driven back to us from Brotton in excellent mechanical order. The car is a true delight to drive and comes with a well documented history file that includes a copy of Classic Car Mart with this very car featured on the front cover.
