In 1961 the Morris Minor became the first British car to sell over 1,000,000 units. The Morris Minor went onto become an icon and are today commonly used as everyday classic cars. The Minor has a fantastic global following and we are regular requested to find good quality examples of Saloons, Travellers, Tourers, Vans and Pickups.
This very original example was first registered on the 17th October 1961 and has come to us in part exchange against a Morris Minor Traveller. HSB 189 has been with its last owner in Beverley since May 2010 and has covered several hundred faultless miles. The Morris has been garaged and taken out on fair weather days for local journeys. Prior to 2010, the Morris was owned by a lady in Tadcaster for 12 years and in total the car has had just five owners from new.
HSB 189 has a recorded mileage of 58,000 that is believed genuine. The mileage fits with the nicely aged condition of the upholstery. The bodywork is solid and in very good order, the underside presents well and the paintwork has nicely aged. The Morris is an unmolested example that has been very well preserved over 53 years. Our Minor has an honest, original feel and driving the car is a relaxed, enjoyable experience. On the road performance is good with a strong, quiet 998cc engine and smooth gearbox. The ride is comfortable, the steering is precise and the brakes feels efficient. The Morris has arrived with a valid MOT certificate with no advisories and will be serviced, function checked and supplied to its new owner with a full 12 months MOT test.
