1931 Riley 9 Monaco
In 1930 Riley introduced an all new 9 'plus' range. This compromised the Monaco and Biarritz Saloons, Brooklands Sports, Open Tourer and 2 seater Coupe. Continuing rally successes contributed to huge growth throughout the 1930's. This older restoration has been very well kept over the years, having been sparingly used. Very rarely do we see a 76 year old car with such an original upholstery. This tells us that the car has never deteriorated enough to be completely restored. This is a very honest car, that has had minor restoration when necessary. For example, the chassis has been restored, and the car looks to have been painted over ten years ago. The mechanical condition is extremely good, with a beautiful sounding engine. An original upholstery like this can appeal to many classic car enthusiasts, however other classic car users like to see smart re-trimmed leather, especially if cars are to be used for wedding work. Considering this, we have decided to price the car up, reflecting the fact that we may spend from £500-£1000 on trim work - the new owners choice. This is a very usable car, that can be jumped in and driven anywhere today. On the button, and 'lovely' throughout.
