This stunning early Rolls Royce MPW 2 door was supplied new by H.R Owen Ltd to the Chairman of Mining Supplies Ltd in South Yorkshire. The first owner was known for revolutionising mining methods and successfully grew his Company employing 6500 people. He was also involved in some controversial industrial relations during the 1970's and 1980's and his affairs were even debated in Parliament. His Rolls Royce was ordered new in Shell Grey with Black leather upholstery and was delivered on the 22nd August 1969 with full refrigeration, fog lamps and lap and diagonal safety belts to each front seat.
CRH7015 is a largely original car that has never spent long periods off the road. The car has been very well maintained from new and in 1990 was sold for £29,500 and valued independently at £34,000 in A1 condition throughout. Since 1990, the Rolls Royce has covered in the region of 13,000 miles taking the current mileage to 117,000. We have MOT certificates dating back to the late 1980's and a letter from marque specialists in London from 1982 stating the car was inspected, road tested and found to be in excellent condition, commensurate with the mileage of 46,000. From 1988-1996 we have invoices for maintenance totalling over £6,000 and this includes servicing, air-conditioning system maintenance and repairs and the supply and fitting of a Rolls Royce suspension kit and uprated anti-roll bars at a cost of £3,700.
The Rolls Royce has been with its last owner in Lincolnshire since 2012 and over £4,500 has been spent improving the car. We have receipts for lubrication work, a full service to include ignition items and a brake service, a new choke pipe, Magnecor HT leads, new sound deadening felt, new Wilton carpets and a new stainless steel exhaust system at the cost of £1,450 alone. The Rolls Royce has been driven to us twice from Lincolnshire and is in very strong mechanical order. The Rolls Royce is truly outstanding to drive and offers luxury, superb performance and reliability. The car handles wonderfully; the engine and gearbox are super quiet as expected and the car sails along gracefully. The car is ideal for regular use, long distance touring and is an outstanding driving car.
The Rolls Royce retains lovely upholstery with aged, creased Black leather seats with a nice patina. Door cards, woodwork and headlining are all in very good order and carpets are excellent. The engine bay is noticeably clean and well presented, as is the boot. Now the Rolls Royce has arrived with us, it is immediately going into our pre-sale facility for external cosmetic improvement work. The front and rear valances are beginning to show signs of corrosion and as a result will be replaced with new panels. The car will be professionally stripped down, windscreens removed, fully re-painted in its original colour of Shell Grey and new windscreen seals and Everflex roof fitted. The car will be ready in around four weeks and we will be keeping a record and photographs of all work carried out. If you would like to discuss the vehicle prior to completion, please either call or e-mail and we are happy to send up to date pictures. The photographs currently displayed were taken on arrival.
