The Rover P4 100 was launched in 1960 and effectively replaced the earlier 90 model which had sold well from when it first appeared in 1953. The 100 model used a 2625cc six cylinder engine which provided a top speed approaching 100mph despite only having a single carburettor. The Rover 100 was known as a powerful, robust saloon and many are still on the road today as result. The P4 is often used for classic rallying and everyday use, underlining the fact these cars are very reliable and perfectly usable for long distance.
712 MRT is an exceptionally original example presented in beautiful condition. The bodywork and paint are of a very good standard and the largley original interior is superb. The Rover has beautiful new wool carpets and the beige leather has nicely aged. The Rover has a lovely patina and is mechanically excellent. We have driven the car a considerable distance and it performs perfectly with a quiet, smooth and powerful engine, smooth gearbox and working overdrive. The Rover has recently had two new rear springs and the carburettor has been rebuilt within the past few hundred miles. The Rover has a recorded mileage of 62000 which fits with the delightful original condition of the vehicle. The engine and gearbox both feel very strong and the interior condition certainly fits with the mileage.
Overall this is a stunning Rover P4 that is ready to be enjoyed.
