We are delighted to offer this stunning Rover P5B Coupe onto the market. We have the known the car for many years and since September 2015 has had over £10,000 spent on taking it to an excellent standard. Cosmetic and presentation work includes a full complete outer re-spray in Admiralty Blue, re-chromed rear bumper, powder coated wheels, a brand new Blaupunkt Essen stereo and some fine interior detailing. The Rover has been further enhanced with the fitting of electronic ignition, a Kenlowe fan unit with override switch and an isolator switch. Further work includes a new power steering hose, overhauling the rev counter unit, four new tyres, full service to include oil and filter change, new spark plugs, fuel filter and fan belt. The alternator has been re-conditioned and brakes have been stripped and cleaned. The Rover has sailed through it past few MOT tests with no advisories and is in excellent driving condition and has covered 500 miles in the past two months. The Rover has driven over to us from Harrogate faultlessly and has been known to us for almost ten years, having being sold by us in 2007 and more recently in early 2016.
XVO 400H comes with MOT certificates dating back to 1994 when the mileage was recorded at 32,221, mileage today is 48,000. The car still retains a largely original upholstery, carpets were replaced by us in 2007 but the leather seats, headlining and dashboard are all original and in lovely order. The Rover still retains its under dash tool tray, original boot mat and battery cover and comes with a fairly comprehensive history file. We first sold the car in 2007, prior to this the Rover was owned by a long term customer of ours in Leicestershire who had a fairly major programme of mechanical work carried out. We bought the car in 2006 and finished off a mechanical overhaul that included a brand new full exhaust system and overhaul to the braking system. We also had the gearbox rebuilt prior to selling the Rover to a customer based in Glasgow and London. The Rover travelled between the two cities several times and over this relatively long term ownership covered in the region of 9,000 miles. The Rover was well maintained over this period and invoices come with the car keeping records of the expenditure. More recently the Rover has been owned by another long term customer, a Yorkshire based Barrister who enjoys experiencing a different range of classic saloons, regularly changing them but always buying examples that are in top class mechanical order capable of regular, and often daily use.
The P5B presents beautifully with an exceptional paint finish, stunning straight bodyshell and lovely chrome. The wheels have been re-furbished and look excellent, tyres are as new and the car has an impressive presence. The upholstery is very original, the Dark Brown leather seats have aged nicely and lovely honest creases in the upholstery remind us of the cars age and clearly demonstrate a well looked after car considering the car is 46 years old. Carpets were replaced many years ago and present well, the original headlining is in lovely order and everything inside functions correctly including the recently fitted period radio. The engine bay is clean and well presented, as is the boot area. The Rover is superb to drive and was collected in Harrogate and driven back to us faultlessly. The V8 engine runs beautifully, offers excellent performance and the automatic gearbox shifts between gears effortlessly. The power steering is efficient, feels light and responsive and the brakes are sharp with a strong pedal. XVO 400H is ideal for regular use, but is also a good long term car to enjoy and see further appreciate.
