The Rover P6 was introduced in 1968 and was in production for nine years with the last P6 coming off out of the factory in 1976. The P6 model was a huge success story for Rover and the model also proved very popular with the Police forces as a traffic patrol car.
This very original tax exempt Rover P6 was first registered on the 15th August 1972 and left the factory in the popular 1970's colour of Tobacco Leaf with Beige leather trim. The Rover has a recorded mileage of 56000 which corresponds with the very smart, original condition of the car. There are signs of wear on the drivers seat base but by the fact our Rover still retains its original carpets and headlining shows this has never been a bad car that has been left to ruin or get damp. The Rover presents well with smart paintwork and lovely, straight original body panels. The paint finish is of a high standard and the chrome work is very smart. The engine bay and boot have been kept beautiful condition and would present well in a local show. It is clear the engine bay has been in the hands of a careful detailer at some point. The Rover is structurally excellent with a solid, straight underside that has been regularly maintained with waxoyl.
On the road performance is outstanding with the strong, powerful engine working perfectly. The engine sounds excellent and the car has proven totally reliable having covered several thousand miles while with its last owner over the past five years. The gearbox is excellent with smooth changes and perfect syncro's and the car is generally very quiet to ride in. Recent expenditure includes new front shock absorbers, rear brake pads and exhaust silencer and the Rover has come to us from Lincolnshire with current MOT but will be supplied to the new owner with a full 12 months test and service.
