This beautiful, original and low mileage Rover P6 was sold new on 7th June 1972 and supplied by W.E Sturgess & Sons Ltd in Leicester. The Rover has covered just 66,000 miles from new and spent from 1972 to 1997 with the same family in Leicestershire. From 1997 to 2014 the Rover had just one owner, still in Leicestershire and the car comes with the most exceptional service history and comprehensive file having been owned by two of our long-term regular customers over the past four years.
EAY 3474K comes with its original supplying dealer sales wallet with Passport to Service booklet that includes service stamps starting with the PDI at 65 miles, then onto servicing at 1072, 3087, 5603, 9045, 13400, 18107, 20490, 23981, 26913, 30108, 33155, 35291, 38447, 54968 and 64655 miles. We have a full record of work and history from new, MOT certificates from 1982 that show the Rover has been continuously on the road over the past 46 years. A full log of the history is with the Rover itemising every aspect of work carried out on the car over its entire life and receipts/invoices for the service history is also with the car. We can confirm the car has been superbly maintained and any work required has been taken care of. As a result, the Rover is in exceptional mechanical condition.
EAY 347K presents beautifully with delightful older paintwork and very smart, sharp bodywork. Panels are excellent and straight, the underside is structurally excellent, and the interior is quite simply outstanding. The original leather is stunning with a lovely patina, the carpets, door cards, dashboard and headlining are in delightful condition and as one would expect of a low mileage, carefully owned original car. The engine bay is very well presented, the boot smart and correct with spare wheel cover and the chrome work bright and in lovely order.
On the road the Rover is exceptional. It is an absolute delight to drive and within the past 1000 miles or so, £2000 has been spent on a service, new clutch, rear brake pads, rear brake flexi hoses, rear brake callipers and new exhaust mid and rear pipes. The Rover is in strong mechanical order, drives superbly with very good performance, handling and braking. This is a very special P6 with wonderful provenance, history and low mileage. This is most certainly a car for the discerning buyer and whilst it's very usable, it's a true collector's piece.
