1974 Rover P6 2200TC

GFW 471N was supplied new by J.R.J Mansbridge of St.Rumbold Street, Lincoln and supplied new to a Scunthorpe based Company, Strong Humberside Ltd. The supplying dealer carried out a PDI check on the 1st November 1974 and serviced the car in December 1974 and at 5717 miles in November 1975. The Rover comes with its 'Passport to Service' book and MOT certificates dating back to 1985 when the mileage was 72,743. The Rover has now covered a mileage of 124,000 and 15,000 miles have been covered since 2012 proving this to be an excellent, reliable, usable P6 Rover.

GFW 471N comes with a well documented file of history detaling service and maintenance work. Invoices over the past few years document new brake calipers, new brake pads, brake hoses, rocker cover gasket, ball joint boots, new distributor cap, condenser, contact set, hub bearing kit, spin on oil filter, clutch slave cylinder and new manifold gaskets. There is no doubt the Rover has been kept in very good mechanical order and mileage over the recent years prove this to be a car capable of regular and long distance use. The P6 drives incredibly well with a lovely performing engine, smooth four speed gearbox and tight steering, excellent road holding and efficent brakes.

The Rover still retains its original colour of Tobacco Leaf. The car has had paintwork carried over the years but does look very original in some areas. The panels are straight and original, the underside is solid and car presents as a real user, not something that will win shows or pick up prizes. This is a classic to be used and is absoloutley ideal for regular use. The upholstery is smart with lovely aged carpets, a good quality headlining, door cards and smart vinyl seats. The interior is not without the odd imperfection but is on the whole very tidy and comfortable. The boot area is very smartly presented, so is the clean, sharp engine bay. If looking for a P6 to drive all year round or cover serious classic miles, this is an excellent candidate.
