This outstanding, original P6 Rover has only covered 49,800 warranted miles from new. UBY 156M has an unbelievable rust free bodyshell that is perfectly straight and original. The car has been waxoyled and garaged from new contributing to the exceptional condition. The Rover presents superbly and has recently been subject of a bare metal re-paint in the original factory colour Almond. Having taken the shell down to bare metal, we can say with confidence that the panels have never required welding and the car has had minimal repair work in almost forty years. Before paintwork, the car had no signs of rust and the original paintwork was faded and subject of some reactions that are common on original cars of this age. The car now looks stunning with a beautiful professional paint finish that fits well with such lovely original upholstery.
UBY 156M was supplied by Cavendish Motors (Kilburn) Ltd on the 18th September 1973 and sold new to a London based Company Frances Sumner (Holdings) Ltd. Cavendish Motors carried out the first service at 1065 miles in November 1973 and a further four stamps are present in the original Rover passport to service booklet up to 23,704 miles in 1981. We have MOT certificates dating back to 1985 with 33,421 miles warranting the recorded mileage and a letter from Frances Sumner (Holdings) Ltd when selling the Rover in 1979. In recent years the Rover has had very little use but within the last 5000 miles the Rover has had new a new stainless steel exhaust system, rear brake callipers, rear brake discs, rear brake pads and sensors. The Rover has come to us from Lincolnshire and we have fitted a new battery and alternator on arrival. On road test, we can report that the car drives superbly with fantastic performance, smooth changing gearbox and an excellent road holding. The Rover will be freshly serviced for its new owner and supplied with a full 12 months MOT.
The Rover comes complete with the passport to service booklet, old MOT's, service invoices throughout the 1980's and 1990's and invoices for more recent work. UBY 156M has such a high level of originality and the superb, straight bodywork clearly indicates what a great car this is. The car still retains its original supplying number plates; what a fabulous find.
