This rare estate car has only covered 38,000 miles from new. The original sales invoice from April 1961 states the car was sold for £782.17 by Puttocks Garage of Guilford and the history shows the first lady owner kept the car until 1977. In 1977 the car was sold to a lady in South West London and the car was then maintained by H.L Austin & Son Ltd who happend to be on the same street as its new owner. H.L Austin & Son Ltd looked after the car from 1977 to 1983 and all the invoices have been kept with the car. From MOT certificates and the service invoices we can see the mileage was taken from 19,000 to 30,000 in the six years owned by its second lady owner. In 1983 the car was sold to a gentleman South of London who kept the car for 25 years, selling the car in 2008 to one of regular customers. Over the past twelve months the Standard 10 has had some basic re-commissioning work and has come to us in smart usable condition.
The rare Pennant has lots of originality as you would expect with a car that has such excellent history and low mileage. The original number has remained with the vehicle and all major running gear is in excellent order. The Standard drives very well and is sold with full MOT and service. The original seats have been nicely kept and recently the car has had replacement carpets. The bodywork all appears smart and presentable and the Standard is still in its original colours of blue with grey Vynide.
