1955 Standard Vanguard Sportsman Phase III

This is an incredibly rare car, a model that is not easily found. 401 BPK is surely one of the most original examples left and this is due to the very careful ownership of the car.

The Sportsman spent much of its early life at the House of Commons, having being sold new to an M.P. Whilst the Sportsman model tended to be only seen in two tone paint, this vehicle was ordered in single colour as the first owner considered a bright two tone colour combination may be perceived to be a little too ostentatious.

In 1985 the rare and rather special Sportsman was displayed in Gaydon Motor Museum where it remained until 2006. Since 2006, the car has been displayed on the Club stand and has had light use. 

The car is a delight to drive and has the desirable overdrive gearbox. The car presents very well with a good standard of paintwork and original interior. The rear seat has recently been damaged but this will be repaired before the car moves to its new home.
