This is an unrepeatable chance to purchase a 26,700 mile from new Sunbeam Talbot MKIIA in outstanding condition. 9328 H was first registered on the 17th September 1953 to U.P.C Limited, Kingsbury Works, London NW9. Our Talbot comes with its original brown buff logbook, original Sunbeam guarantee booklet, Energol Lubrication booklet and handbook. The car was used by its first owner until September 1957 but was then laid up off the road until 1975. In 1975 the Sunbeam was sold to its second owner who was based in Watford and used the Talbot from July 1975 to July 1976, it was then taken off the road again and sold in 1980 by Sotherby's Auction at Ardingly with 23700 warranted miles. The Talbot was then with one owner who kept the car for over thirty years, using it for two years during the 1980's and putting the car back into hibernation until 2008.
In 2008 the Talbot was stripped down to bare metal in preparation for a full top class re-paint. The bright work was sent for re-chroming the wonderful original interior treated to new carpets and headlining. On build up of the body work new rubbers were fitted and photos of the work are with the cars impressive history file. Having being off the road for so many years the radiator was renewed and the petrol tank cleaned out. The wiring at the front end of the car was replaced the brake shoes replaced, new rubbers were required for wheel cylinders and master cylinder, the car was then ready to be MOT tested. The Sunbeam was MOT tested consecutively covering up to 100 miles per year before selling to the fourth owner in 2014, a long term regular customer of ours in Lincolnshire who has carried out some detailing work and taken the car to various shows and events.
9328 H comes with a wonderful history file that not only includes the original handbooks etc but 1953 - 1957 tax discs, 1983 - 1984 tax discs, MOT's from 1975, 1983 and 1984 and lots of correspondence and paperwork dating back many years. Equally impressive as the history is the condition of the car, the bodywork is excellent and the paint finish which is nine years old it truly exceptional. The chrome work is excellent, the engine bay and boot beautifully presented and the interior is quite simply stunning with exceptional original leather upholstery. On the road the Talbot drives like a 26000 mile car. The engine ticks over perfectly, is strong, healthy and performs beautifully and the four speed gearbox is superb and does not have the common Talbot 90 jumping out of gear problem. The steering is tight, the brakes sharp and the Sunbeam handles wonderfully. This is a very special car and it retains some lovely original features and its pleasing to see its very valuable original registration mark has been kept with the car. Finding top class Talbot 90's isn't easy, but with 26000 miles, a top class history, original registration and low ownership, this is somewhat unrepeatable and a fabulous collectors piece. There may not be another one like this.
