This very original, usable Sunbeam Talbot 90 was first registered on the 21st September 1956. This is the MKIII model that was introduced in 1954 and it utilised the same independent front suspension, strong 2267cc engine and four speed column change gearbox as the earlier models. The Talbot 90 was famous for winning the 1955 Monte Carlo Rally outright and they have a reputation for reliability and durability.
This very honest, sound example has been with its last owner since 2013, a high ranking military fast jet pilot. Due to commitments, the Sunbeam has had limited occasional use over the past three years and has covered in the region of 1000 faultless miles. The Sunbeam has now come to us in part exchange, the previous owner and his wife being ready for a change of classic car. Whilst the Sunbeam has no early history, the car does record a mileage of 54300 and from the condition of the largely original interior, and generally solid, sound original condition of the car, we would expect this to be original.
675 YUE presents well with nicely aged paintwork and bright, original chrome. There are minor blemishes to the bodywork but no major corrosion issues. The underside is solid, in very good order and the presents as you would expect a very original car. The interior is smart with a clean headlining, lovely clean replaced carpets and the leather has nicely aged with the general creases reminding us the car is now 60 years old. On the road the Talbot performs really well with lots of power coming from the strong engine, the four speed column change gearbox feels very good and the car steers and handles well. This is a good, honest useable classic that should represent good value. The Talbot will be sold with 12 months MOT and will be freshly serviced for its new owner.
