This outstanding low mileage Triumph Stag was supplied new by Paul Street Garage Ltd, London EC2 and supplied new to National Car Parks Limited in West London. This French Blue example spent six years in Northern Ireland before first coming to us in 2014 with a mileage of 60,000 from new. Since selling the Stag in 2014 to one of the key board members of the East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club, the car has covered 4000 miles and has had almost £5000 taking the car to a truly outstanding standard. Work includes fully re-furnishing the original hard top, major engine bay detailing, annual servicing and mechanical maintenance. The Stag has now come back to us in part exchange and has to be of one the smartest, most genuine automatic Stags we have owned. This is a truly superb motor car and it will not disappoint. The car comes with its original handbook, Passport to Service book with stamped PDI, sales brochure, British Leyland warranty card and original stereo manual and wiring diagram.
The car has arrived with us in exceptional order and has the most superb, straight, rust free bodyshell. The underside is outstanding, the engine bay excellent and the individual panels are all in first class order. The French Blue paintwork is of an excellent standard and chrome work is very good. The soft top roof has recently been replaced and the interior is quite simply top class. The seats are almost like new, if anything we would suggest re-foaming the drivers seat, something we would carry out for the next owner, the carpets are excellent, as are door cards and the dashboard. Once carpets are removed, the perfectly clean floors gleam and the whole interior is as one would expect when the vehicle was just a few years old.
We know from 1997 to first coming to us in 2014 the Stag had covered just 5000 miles and in over six years in Northern Ireland covered just 500 miles. The Stag has spent the majority of time in Northern Ireland garaged and as a result was fully serviced and prepared when sold by us three years ago. Since 2014 4000 miles have been covered taking the mileage to 64000. The car has been driven to many shows and events over the past few years and we can report the automatic gearbox shifts gears smoothly and functions exactly as it should. The beautiful Triumph V8 engine runs perfectly with a fantastic note through the stainless steel exhaust system. The engine holds excellent oil pressure and has exceptional performance.
In the history file we have paperwork to support aroun £5000 of expenditure since 2014 and prior to then, the Stag has been treated to a new water pump, new rear springs, new rear brake wheel cylinders and three new differential seals at the cost of £2500. The Stag has also been fully serviced to include balancing the carburettors. The condition of this example is first class throughout and it is without doubt one of the finest Automatic Stag's we've sold.
