1973 Triumph Stag Manual

This stunning tax exempt Triumph Stag was first registered on the 16th January 1973 and supplied new by South Devon Garages Ltd in Torquay. RXL 572L comes with an extensive history file including original handbook, document wallet and full original passport to service book with seventeen service stamps from the supplying main dealer to 35,277 miles in 1979. From 1989 and 70,802 miles we have MOT certificates to date and an invoice file detailing considerable expense from 1994.

Between 1996 and 2000 the Triumph was subject of some restoration work which has been well documented. Invoices for in the region of £10,000 are with the history file from this period. This work included substantial mechanical improvements including a re-conditioned Triumph Stag engine from Rimmer Bros. Further work included fitting a re-conditioned steering rack, re-conditioned drive shafts, stainless steel exhaust, Luminition, brake and suspension overhaul, re-conditioned starter motor, new hood as well as many more improvements.

The last owner bought the car in 2009 and has covered in the region of 5,000 miles including a recent trip to Germany. Invoices from the last owner total to over £5000 and this includes a top end engine rebuild, differential work, re-furbishing alloy wheels, new brakes shoes and annual servicing and tuning.

The mileage now reads 98000 and the car presents exceptionally well with a lovely straight body and stunning yellow paintwork. The upholstery is very smart with superb seats, carpets, door cards and dashboard. The Stag drives superbly with a beautiful sounding and performing engine. The manual gearbox is smooth and the overdrive works perfectly. The Stag is ideal for general classic car motoring, regular use or long distance touring as it has recent proven.

A great value car that has been maintained to a superb standard.
