1971 Triumph Stag Manual

This very early MKI tax exempt Triumph Stag was first registered on the 11th November 1971. The car has come to us in excellent mechanical condition and was driven here from Bradford, West Yorkshire. JMD 627K performed faultlessly and was comfortable on the motorway at 70mph in overdrive. The car has excellent performance, a smooth gearbox and is an absolute delight to drive. The Stag has been well maintained, garaged and in regular use over the past few months. Whilst we cannot guarantee the mileage of 88,000, we have history dating back to the early 1990's when the car recorded 72,000 miles. There is a large file of invoices throughout the 1990's recording maintenance and improvements. With the history is a Triumph Stag handbook with original wallet.

Within the last few thousand miles the Stag has receipts totalling around £2000 which includes new tyres, brake discs and pads, ball joints, waxoyling and general servicing. The car has clearly been well maintained and as a result requires no major mechanical work. From the history and a report dating back to 1994, it is said that the car was subject of a major restoration where most body panels and mechanical components were replaced or renewed during the early 1990's.

The exterior condition of the car is very sharp with gleaming white paintwork, a very straight, smart body and bright chrome. The upholstery is excellent with superb seats, carpets , door cards and dashboard. The boot area is exceptionally tidy and the engine bay presentable. The soft top is in very good condition and is not difficult to put up or down.

To conclude, JMD 627K is a very smartly presented example that is superb to drive. It is ideal for taking to shows, rallies, long distance touring or simply regular use as the last owner enjoyed.  This is a very good opportunity to purchase a sensibly priced, rare early MKI Stag with manual gearbox and overdrive.
