1974 Triumph Stag Manual

UPB 913M was first registered on the 4th January 1974. From the extensive history file we know the Stag has spent the majority of the last twenty four years in West Yorkshire and several previous years in South Yorkshire. This example is without a doubt the very best we have offered on the market over the past ten years. In 1999 the car was subject of a three year bare shell rebuild to show condition and since then has been superbly maintained. The Stag has covered under 13000 miles since rebuild, over 4000 of these with the last long term owner. A note book is with the car detailing all mileage and trips over the past six years.

The Triumph has been rebuilt to a very high standard and the engine is in exceptional condition having been stripped down and rebuilt with new pistons. The engine was stripped down, the oil pump replaced, block refaced, crankshaft reground and the cylinder heads rebuilt. The clutch was replaced, the differential rebuilt and the overdrive unit stripped and rebuilt. The car is sensational drive and still feels tight and relatively fresh from rebuild. The engine performs perfectly, the car has no overheating problems and the gearbox is perfect with smooth overdrive. Brakes, suspension and steering were also overhauled during restoration and receipts for the work are with the vehicles history file. Several photographs detail the bare shell body restoration. The body was taken to bare metal and superbly rebuilt and painted. The underside was also painted and finished in white, making the car very impressive to view from underneath. This and the first class engine bay indicate the high level of detail and quality exercised during restoration. The interior has been re-trimmed and the blue seats, carpets and door cards are all in excellent order. The hood was also replaced and the vehicles original hard top is also with the car.

UPB 913M is a true pleasure to drive with excellent performance and a quality ride. The car has the appearance of a Stag just a few years old with the driving experience to match. The last owner has thoroughly enjoyed touring in the car and it has proved to be reliable and a fantastic investment. This showroom condition car is ideal for summer use and has not been taken out in poor weather. It is ideal for taking onto the Continent and can be driven and enjoyed with full confidence several years on since restoration.
