1961 Triumph TR3

This beautifully restored Triumph TR3 was built on Tuesday 20th September 1960. Our TR3 is a genuine UK home market car that left the factory in Signal Red with Red Vynide upholstery and Black hood and sidescreens. From a copy of the original buff logbook we know the Triumph was with one owner in Guisborough until at least the late 1970's and the car stayed in the area until being sold in 2005 requiring some restoration work.

Between 2005 and 2010 PGR 763 has had substantial expenditure and restoration work. As a result this is a beautifully presented car that is exceptional to drive. Our TR3 has Revington TR's suspension kit that includes front anti roll bar with polyurethane bushes, new top front and top rear wishbones, new ball joints, trunnions, Spax shock absorbers and upper Fulcrum kit. The TR3 also has the benefit of a steering rack conversion and the cylinder head has been rebuilt with hardened valve seats, new valve guides, new inlet and exhaust valves. Further work includes new brake discs, pads, wheel cylinders, brake shoes and new brake hoses. Mechanically the car is top class and drives superbly. PGR 763 is quick with a strong engine holding excellent oil pressure, the gearbox is a delight to use and has a perfectly working overdrive.  The car has improved handling as a result of the Revington TR upgrades and brakes efficiently.

The TR3 body has been professionally restored and re-painted in the original colour of Signal Red. Front wings alone cost almost £1000 and as a result of the work this TR has a stunning, straight bodyshell with first class paintwork. The interior has been totally re-trimmed and the weather equipment including hood were replaced. The panel fit is very good, the detail of the paintwork superb and as a result the car presents beautifully. Since this work, PGR 763 has covered less than 1000 miles.

This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a stunning TR3 with overdrive that is capable of regular use and long distance touring. The car is fantastic fun to drive and is impressive on the road. A truly superb example that would be fantastic to take into Europe touring.
