This stunning yellow Triumph TR3A was manufactured in 1958 and was last sold by us in 2014 to a customer in Aberdeenshire. We prepared the vehicle and it drove 350 faultless miles to Aberdeen where it has since been garaged and carefully owned since. Prior to selling the car in 2014, the TR3A had been in Scotland since 1997 and had very little use since restoration with just 3500 miles covered. Over the past ten years the car has only driven 1000 miles but has arrived to us in strong mechanical condition. From receipts with the vehicle, we know the TR was subject to major work to include a gearbox rebuild, body restoration and various mechanical re-commissioning. The very strong 1991cc engine runs superbly holding excellent oil pressure suggesting it has been rebuilt. The car drives very well with excellent performance, superb handling and efficient brakes. Whilst the TR has had very little use, it has arrived on the button and is ready to use and enjoy.
YFO 907 presents very well with a straight panels, good gaps and lovely bodyshell. The paintwork is very bright and nicely presented, the chrome work is excellent and the wheels, tyres, glass and weather equipment all in very good order. The chassis is straight, clean and structurally excellent, the engine bay is tidy and the upholstery sharp with excellent seats, carpets, door cards and dashboard. The gauges all work and are correct and the TR is comfortable with a great driving position. The car sits well and is very attractive in every respect.
This TR has clearly had substantial money spent during the late 1990's and due to the lack of use, still looks, drives and feels recently refurbished. This is ideal for anyone looking for a smart, useable TR that doesn't require major work and is in a condition where it can be driven with confidence. The car is not in show winning condition but clean, attractive and offers good value, usability and a brilliant driving experience. It is one of those cars we just want to get behind the wheel, listen to the beautiful engine and exhaust note and get out onto the open road and take up to 60mph and really drive.
