KXC 465L presents superbly with an excellent restored bodyshell. There are no major marks or blemishes, the panel fit throughout is superb and the wheel arches, lower wings and doors are all in excellent order. The Dark Blue paintwork has been superbly applied and has nicely aged with a stunning deep finish. The chrome work is excellent throughout and the underside is structurally excellent. The interior looks impressive next to the Dark Blue paintwork and retains very smart Tan seats, door cards and carpets. The dashboard is in very good order, all the gauges work and the whole interior has a very sharp appearance and nicely, used feel to it. The engine bay is very well presented, the boot area very clean and whilst this has been a car used for long distance touring, it would not take much detailing to take to a show standard.
On the road this TR is outstanding and it's clear why it was chosen for the type of use its had over the past five years. The engine performs superbly, runs perfectly on all six cylinders and holds excellent oil pressure. The car keeps a correct temperature, the four speed gearbox is strong with excellent syncromesh and the overdrive comes in and out correctly and smooth. Over the past five years several thousand pounds has been spent on maintenance to include cylinder head work, new thermostat, new HT leads, new wheel cylinders, brake pads, brake discs, re-conditioned shock absorbers, new tyres, master cylinder, slave cylinder, new water pump, heater valve and hoses and new drive shafts. Prior to changing hands in 2010 the car was treated to new diff mount bushes, diff pinion oil seal and axle shaft oil seal. Further back in 2001 the TR6 had a new unleaded head, new camshaft and cam followers, timing chain kit and new metering unit. Since this major work the TR has covered 9000 miles.
If looking for a top quality, reliable and superbly maintained UK specification TR6 presenting in stunning cosmetic order, this has to be a strong contender.
