1974 Triumph TR6 PI

TON 410N was built on 24th May 1974 and left the factory in Mimosa Yellow with Black upholstery. The car is a UK specification home market car and it was supplied new by R H Collier & Co Ltd in Birmingham. The fuel injected TR6 was supplied new with disc wheels, hard top and overdrive to a Mr Carter of Sutton Coldfield and we have both green 'buff' logbook and Heritage Certificate confirming all original specification details.

We have history dating back to the mid 1980's detailing rebuild work. The TR register confirmed in 1990 that the car was restored and was treated to new wings, a re-spray and mechanical overhaul that included an engine rebuild and gearbox overhaul. The TR register also state the car was reported to have been tuned to stage II level and was producing 150BHP after the rebuild. Since this major work during the mid-1980s's the TR has covered 42,000 miles. Invoices are with the car and detail the engine rebuild that included re-grinding the crankshaft, replacing and machining bearings, new pistons and fitting on new valves, valves seats and guides. There are invoices for a new ring gear, new trunnion's, bushes, ball joints, steering rack, new brake discs, rear brake shoes and wheel bearings.

Throughout the 1990's the TR was very well maintained and there is a comprehensive file of maintenance and improvement receipts for this period. Invoices include a new gearbox rear oil seal , new thermostat, new brake caliper seals and pistons, new shock absorber links and from 2000 invoices are present for a new clutch kit, new slave cylinder, brake hoses, HT leads, distributor cap, new windscreen, new output bearings, diff pinion seal, high torque starter motor and regular service items. Cosmetic improvements in recent years include new seat foams, new mohair hood and new dashboard cover. Over the past few years and within the last two years our TR6 has also had a new metering unit, Bosch fuel injection pump kit, replacement lever arm shock absorbers and new upper wishbone bushes.  Clearly from the detailed history file we can see this has been a very well maintained and regular used TR.

TON 410N was originally driven to Yorkshire from the South Coast performing faultlessly and we quickly sold the car to a long term customer in Inverness. The TR has once again arrived in strong mechanical order with working overdrive, strong engine holding very good oil pressure and a lovely smooth changing gearbox. Having being painted during the 1980's the car originally arrived with us needing some cosmetic attention and in early 2015 was treated to a full re-paint including engine bay in its original colour of Mimosa Yellow. As a result the TR6 has a lovely paint finish, superb straight body panels and has a super straight, clean underside. The chrome work is of a very good standard and with nicely presented upholstery and as new hood; the car looks fabulous in every respect. In recent months the TR6 has been further improved with a sports coil, silicon plug leads, spare wheel retaining system, new boot linings, new intertia reel seat belts, new door and window seals, new windscreen cap, new B post caps, internal re-furbishment of the hard top, new hard top seals, air intake box replaced with a K&N direct air filter, new glove box and catch and various under bonnet detailing has been carried out.
