We are delighted to offer this superb driving, long distance touring TR6 onto the market. This car has covered in the region of 20000 miles since 2002 and in early 2017 successfully toured 2000 miles driving from Hexham, Northumberland to Portsmouth, over to Northern Spain for a tour also covering Northern Portugal. The TR6 also drove to us faultlessly from Hexham before we sold the car to one our of regular customers in Oxfordshire last year. This incredibly sharp, clean TR6 runs, performs and ticks over perfectly and arrives back with us in a condition as good as they come. This is a car you can drive with real confidence and on the road it will most certainly not disappoint.
This 1971 TR started life in the US and was sold by a leading MG specialists in 2000 as a Californian restoration project with original paint and interior. The body was notably in excellent rust free condition and that would explain the current top class body, excellent panel fit and now glorious paintwork having being re-finished in the early 2000's. The TR was treated to a professional re-trim, new hood and brightwork has all been replaced and today presents superbly. We can confirm the engine bay presents in first class condition with beautifully painter inner wings, superbly detailed engine and ancillaries. The boot area is carpeted and perfectly presented.
As stated above FVN 143J drives superbly and is in excellent mechanical order. The car comes with an impressive file of receipts covering maintenance over the past 16 years. Receipts include replacing diff mounting bushes, new diff pinion oil seal, gearbox tail housing oil seal, new lumenition magnetronic ignition unit, silicon hoses, new fuel pump, stainless steel brake hoses, water pump, rear Spax shock absorbers, poly bushes, rebuilt SU carburettors, new clutch and stainless steel exhaust system. This TR6 is a wonderful experience on the road with a perfectly smooth engine holding excellent oil pressure, gear changes are slick and perfect, the car holds the road superbly and with recently rebuilt brakes (discs, pads etc) it stops with confidence. This is a real drivers car and it could cost thousands trying to make the average TR6 drive like this.
