1975 VW Camper

This RHD VW Bay Window was built in Hanover, Germany in 1975 ahead of delivery to Great Britain on the 27th May 1975. We have confirmation from Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen that this vehicle was built for the right hand drive market and it is confirmed the vehicle still retains its original engine meaning this is a matching numbers example. The VW was subject of some major restoration work back in 2008 and since then has been in regular use, covering over 40,000 miles. Clearly this is a Camper that can be driven with absolute confidence and is ideal for long distance trips, holidays and general classic motoring.

Restoration work in 2008 included major bodywork and we have thousands of pounds worth of receipts documenting this. The body was totally stripped down and treated to quarter panels, rear cross member, inner and outer wheel arches, outriggers, jacking points, rear floor, sills, rear bulkhead, inner bulkhead, 'B' posts, seating panel, front floor and complete outer centre floor panel. The bodyshell was then painted and treated to various new rubbers and seals. The VW was then re-fitted with new bumpers, headlights, indicators, hub caps and mirrors. The VW was subject of a mechanical check over and any required work was carried out as necessary prior to be put into extensive use. The upholstery has also been fully re-trimmed to a lovely standard and is fully equipped with bed, tables, cabinets and various appliances enabling the Camper to be used to its maximum potential.

LLJ 958P presents beautifully with lovely paintwork, brightwork and a structurally excellent body. The interior has been tastefully trimmed with comfort in mind and the vehicle drives superbly. The VW has a strong engine that runs and performs superbly, the gearbox is lovely and the vehicle brakes, steers and handles correctly. Having covered serious mileage in recent years, this is a mechanically on the button example that can be put straight back into regular use. This is a very usable example and it's in exactly the right condition for using and enjoying. We will be supplying the Camper with a full 12 months MOT and servicing it prior to delivery/collection so it will be well and truly ready to go.
