Visit to Melrose Orphanage, Grafton, Sierra Leone

Over the past 14 years Directors have been involved in raising money to change lives. Paul Szkiler is a founding Director of the Duchess of York's charity, 'Children in Crisis' which set up a mountain home for child victims of industrial pollution in Eastern Europe. This work continues and 'CIC' now has projects helping children in several countries.

More recent focus has been on another charity set up by Paul - A Call to Business. This particular organisation has been working in Sierra Leone since 2005 developing communities and funding new schools, a training centre and much more.

In addition to financial input, James Szkiler has recently made his first trip to Sierra Leone to witness and be involved in the developments there himself. One specific place James has pledged to support is an orphanage for 22 disabled children run by a polio victim - a lady called Melrose. Currently we are raising funding for new beds and repairs to the well which provides essential fresh water.

Later, a move is planned to a safer, more secure location. This work is about transforming lives and changing the culture which has kept this resource-rich African Nation impoverished.
