We are delighted to offer this very rare Wall Autowheel onto the market. The Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club Pioneer Register have dated his wonderful find as 1914 and it comes with period bicycle and supporting paperwork. The Wall Autowheel is registered BF 5622 and has come to us in beautifully aged, usable condition.Towards the end of the first decade of the 20th Century there was a clear demand for economy transport and the Wall Autowheel was designed to meet that demand. Cycling had been a popular pastime and a relatively practical means of transport for about 40 years before the arrival of the Wall Autowheel in 1912. This consisted of a 118cc single-cylinder engine with atmospheric inlet valve and side exhaust valve, mounted in a sub frame that attached to an everyday pedal cycle at three points, that engine driving to its own integral wheel, thus effectively creating a three-wheeler. It was marketed by Auto-Wheels Limited and this example dates from 1914 and it is reported that once mastered, it would give 20mph performance for the rider. The Wall Autowheel is eligible for the prestigious Sunbeam MCC Pioneer Run to Brighton and are popular in the Cyclemotor Section of the VMCC.
