I will certainly return to Grundy Mack to find the right car, as I know that I will be well looked after

I remember, as a young lad in Leeds in the late 1950s, seeing my very first Frogeye. I don't suppose that many 7 year olds make car-buying decisions but at that point I decided that at some stage in my life, I would have my very own Sprite.

It took many years to fulfil that dream but it was a magical moment when I took delivery, from you, of MVG 245.

It was in very 'useable' condition and that was just what I wanted. I replaced the steel wheels with a set of replica minilites and started to use it.

It goes to the shops, it blasts around the country lanes around my home, it goes on holiday and it has attended rallies (although these are not my favourite past-time. There is usually someone who wants to tell you that a certain part is not original or that their car is better!)

It is such fun to use and it has always been reliable. It starts 'on-the-button, the engine never misses a beat and the handling puts a massive smile on my face.

There is only one problem. My ageing body finds it increasingly difficult to look 'cool' as I clamber in and out of the tiny space behind the steering wheel. However, once in the car, the view down the bonnet over the headlamps is fantastic.

When the time comes for MVG to be replaced ( probably by an MG TC or TF ) I will certainly return to Grundy Mack to find the right car, as I know that I will be well 'looked after'.
