25th March 2020

Dear Customers and Friends,

The spread of Covid 19 presents challenges beyond the normal realm of business and indeed is an unprecedented crisis in all of our lifetimes. I’m writing to all our customers and friends to wish you well. I assure you that both Classic & Sportscar Centre and Malton Coachworks regard the good health and wellbeing of our customers and staff as our top priority. We are well prepared to face this crisis because for many years resilience has been a key part of our planning, not just for ourselves but for those around us.

We are of course closely monitoring Government guidelines and have now closed the showroom, however the sales side of the business will remain open for business using online technology. Our sales website at will be kept up to date with new stock so we encourage you to enjoy browsing the classic cars we have for sale. Enquiries and purchases can still be made, and since the premises are manned 24/7 detailed videos of cars can be forwarded on request. All cars here will be kept safely stored and insured, including the ones sold to new owners. In addition to the usual risks we are one of the few companies to have insured against business interruption due to disease. The Malton Coachworks sites closed on the 26th March and will re-open when safe and socially responsible to do so.

The majority of us will be spending more time at home in the coming weeks and we hope to provide you with a little entertainment via website and video, as we all look forward to better times, enjoying our lovely hobby and the great social interaction it brings. This global pandemic has of course eclipsed the importance of classic cars, but this is not just our business, it is a big part of our way of life. We look forward to the time when we can once again attend events and socialise with our like-minded friends, customers and fellow enthusiasts. At a time of weakening currency values we believe there is a strong case for taking some cash and putting it into tangible assets which have demonstrated enduring value and with which we can also have fun. Considering this, please do check our current stock, and also let us know if you are looking for anything specific as we do have other vehicles due in that may not be on our website.
Please do keep in touch with us throughout these unusual times and I wish you and your families the very best of health. Stay safe and I look forward to seeing you soon.
